WASHINGTON — September 9, 2025 – Altana, the world’s product network connecting businesses and governments on a common platform for global trade, today announced that its foundational research proposal has achieved ‘Awardable’ status through the DARPA Expedited Research Implementation Series (ERIS) Marketplace. The proposed effort will leverage Altana’s commercial AI-powered platform as the basis for creating a new class of capabilities to secure the U.S. industrial base.
The DARPA Expedited Research Implementation Series (ERIS) Marketplace is a transformative digital platform designed to accelerate acquisition velocity and advance national security innovation. The repository houses 7-minute pitch videos of awardable solutions that have undergone rigorous assessment through competitive procedures and are available to Government customers with an ERIS Marketplace account.
In partnership with Janes, the global leader in foundational defense intelligence, the research effort will test the central hypothesis that a new class of capabilities can create a living, collaborative model of our nation’s industrial capacity, with emphasis on the Defense Industrial Base (DIB). Together, this partnership fuses a proven AI-powered product network with decades of authoritative defense sector analysis, creating an unprecedented capability to map, model, and manage the DIB for an era of great power competition.
“As part of the ERIS Marketplace, we are pleased to offer research that will enable decision-makers to stay ahead of new challenges, protect national security, and enhance resilience in the U.S. industrial base,” said Charlie Kindermann, Global Head of Capture at Altana. “Our mission with Janes is to power a leap forward in the U.S.’s ability to understand, secure, and strengthen its defense industrial base.”
Altana’s video outlining the foundational research is now accessible to government customers on the DARPA ERIS Marketplace. It presents a phased research plan to create an unprecedented, multi-tier view of the industrial base, enabling strategic foresight, operational agility, and mission resilience for the Department of Defense.
Altana was recognized among a competitive field of applicants to the ERIS Marketplace whose solutions demonstrated innovation and potential impact on DoD missions. Government customers interested in viewing the video solution can create an ERIS Marketplace account at www.darpaconnect.us/eris.
