The Altana Style Guide.

The network for trusted trade.

This page provides the essential assets and guidelines needed to represent Altana with clarity and consistency. Download our logo, fonts, and brand elements, and reference our color, and imagery standards.

01 — Logo & Usage

The Altana logo.

The symbol and wordmark use negative space and Gestalt principles, inviting the eye to fill in gaps and connect shapes. Together they represent Altana’s ability to reveal hidden insights and bring clarity to complex networks.

Primary lockups

The full logo (symbol + wordmark) is the default and preferred lockup. Use it across most channels.

Lockup — WhiteFor dark backgrounds
Lockup — BlackFor light backgrounds
Lockup — MustardNeutral / cream backgrounds only

Wordmark & symbol

Use the wordmark alone only when the brand is already established or space is strictly limited. Reserve the symbol for app icons, favicons, and avatars where the full logo would be illegible.

Symbol — KnockoutBrand-forward applications
Symbol — White on MustardReserved for brand campaigns

Clear space

Maintain clear space around the logo for visibility. The minimum clear space equals the width of the inner rectangle in the symbol, applied evenly on all sides.

Improper usage

Six things never to do with the Altana logo.

Don’t adjust spacing.
The symbol and wordmark should never be manually spaced or separated.
Don’t change order.
When used together, the symbol must always precede the wordmark.
Don’t distort proportions.
Never stretch, compress, or skew the logo.
Don’t recolor components separately.
The symbol and wordmark should always share the same treatment.
Don’t use low contrast.
The logo must always be legible against its background. This doesn’t apply to watermarks or anywhere the logo takes a supportive role.
Don’t add effects.
Avoid drop shadows, glows, bevels, or other effects that compromise clarity.

Partnerships

When pairing Altana’s logo with a partner logo, always use the primary Altana mark in black or white. Whenever possible, display the partner logo in matching monochrome for visual consistency.

Maintain the clear space rules outlined previously and use a vertical rule to separate the two marks. Avoid using only the symbols when possible.

Use the animated bumper for video intros, social posts, and presentation openers. Let the logo resolve fully on screen before transitioning to other content.

02 — Color

A warm, confident palette.

Built around Mustard, our hero color, and supported by versatile neutrals. Mustard signals trust and clarity; neutrals provide warmth and breathing room. Use the secondary palette strategically to enhance impact.

03 — Typography

Plain. Spacious. Considered.

Plain is our primary typeface—a modern sans-serif drawing on Swiss tradition, built for clarity at any size. Space Mono adds technical character to callouts. Helvetica Neue is the fallback for Google Workspace.

Fallback — Helvetica Neue

Used in Google Docs, Google Slides, and any other context where Plain is not available.

04 — Imagery

Photography, illustration, motion.

Our visuals are simple, modern, and timeless. Together they communicate our brand principles and the strength that comes from trusted relationships.

Photography

Three categories cover most use cases.

Industry

Workers, ports, ships, factories, and logistics hubs

Capture the people, scale, and systems that move products around the world.

Interaction

People interacting with products

Show products in real contexts—being made, handled, or used.

Product Journey

From source to outcome

Highlight the transformation of goods. Use micro details alongside macro views to reveal the full product journey.

Do's and don'ts

Quick rules of thumb for selecting and editing photography.

Do

Focus on products in use—touched, worn, handled.

Do

When possible, capture subjects that naturally feature brand colors.

Do

Use macro and micro perspectives to show both detail and scale.

Don't

Use generic stock photography of people unless directly tied to subject matter. Don’t use staged “teamwork” or overly posed shots.

Don't

Apply monochrome, grayscale, or tinted filters that strip away brand colors.

Don't

Don’t use any imagery that looks like it was overtly generated by AI.

Illustration

When we illustrate, we show how things are made—much like our platform.

Builds

Product breakdowns on the grid

The grid represents a “map” where the lifecycle of the illustrated product can be found, and by calling out specific nodes we can see components, such as tires or engines in a car.

Technical

Isometric platform diagrams

Technical illustrations use the same monoweight outline, but focus on isometric diagrams to illustrate platform architecture, how data flows, or anything in between. Again, we focus on form over decoration—use only line to separate elements, never color.

Collage

Photo + grid + illustration

Collages combine the photography previously mentioned with the illustration styles on this page. We use elements like data points, the illustrated grids, and illustrated builds of products and combine them with a photo on a grid.

Motion principles

Six principles that guide how Altana moves—from product transitions to brand storytelling.

Layout

Order, symmetry, balance, grid

Our product finds order in chaos, signal in noise.

Easing

Snappy and responsive

Our tech is fast. Our motion should communicate that speed and precision.

Simplicity

Strip the story to its elements

We often use before/after transitions to show transformation.

Looping

Multiple chances to absorb

We employ loops whenever possible, giving the audience multiple chances to absorb complex concepts.

Match Cut

Link two distinct shots

Through a shared visual element, seamlessly connecting different scales, products, or contexts.

Hierarchy

Use motion to guide attention

Bold primary actions are followed by subtle secondary actions to establish hierarchy.

05 — Applications

The brand in the wild.

How our identity comes together across the channels we show up in—social, out-of-home, and sales. Each application uses the same building blocks: logo, palette, type, and imagery.

Social

Out-of-home
