IRAP certification enables Altana to deliver secure, compliant solutions to Australian government agencies
NEW YORK, April 2, 2025 — Altana, the world’s only product network, is pleased to announce it has completed the Australian government’s Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) assessment at the Protected level, enabling the company to provide secure services to Australian government agencies.
Through a partnership with Coalfire, a global cyber security advisory and engineering company, Altana can now extend its services to other government agencies in Australia, fostering cross-agency collaboration and secure data-sharing opportunities. Altana went live with its IRAP-compliant environment with an Australian government agency in December 2024.
The IRAP certification process required Altana to deploy its SaaS and PaaS offerings within a dedicated cloud environment. That ensured compliance with stringent Australian government controls, including requirements for the secure handling of sensitive government data. Coalfire played a key role in building a successful and sustainable platform, ensuring compliance with the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) standards. CyberCX assessed and validated the effectiveness of the security controls, ensuring Altana met the compliance standards required for the Australian government to issue an Authority to Operate at the Protected Level.
The IRAP certification eases the path for Altana to partner directly with more Australian government agencies, increasing operational efficiency and interagency collaboration and enabling the company to better help agencies maintain Australia’s national security, economic stability, and health and well-being.
“This milestone is a significant achievement for Altana and underscores our commitment to meeting the highest standards of cybersecurity as we expand our reach into the global public sector,” said Aashish Patel, VP, Technology, Infrastructure, and Security, Altana. “The collaboration with Coalfire was instrumental to our success in meeting the stringent requirements of the IRAP assessment within a very tight timeframe.”
Altana has been serving the Australian government since 2023. Altana also supports the U.K. Ministry of Defence’s supply chain management, development and resilience activities, as well as the Department for Business and Trade’s Global Supply Chain Intelligence Programme. Other customers include U.S. Customs and Border Patrol and allied defense and intelligence agencies.
