June 16, 2026 (NEW YORK, NY) — Altana today announced that veteran global trade and compliance executive Julie Ann Parks has joined the company as Vice President of Trade.
Parks, a Licensed Customs Broker, brings nearly 30 years of experience building and transforming global trade and compliance programs for Fortune 100 companies, with a focus on turning regulatory complexity into operational and strategic advantage. Prior to Altana, Parks held senior customs and trade leadership roles across aerospace, defense, and automotive organizations with complex international supply chains — including RTX Corporation, Raytheon Company, Ford Motor Company, and Volkswagen Group of America. She began her career in the U.S. Department of Commerce and later served as a broker for WF Whelan & Company. Parks currently serves in leadership roles with the American Association of Exporters and Importers (AAEI) and served as the former Chairman of the Board of Governors and as a past representative to the World Customs Organization's Private Sector Consultative Group. Appointed by the Secretaries of Treasury and Homeland Security, she also serves on the Commercial Customs Operations Advisory Committee (COAC), where she was elected co-chair by her peers. She is also a former board member of the NCBFAA Educational Institute and former Vice-Chair of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers' Customs Committee.
In this role, Parks will collaborate across Altana's teams and customer network to support its mission to transform trade complexity into actionable intelligence through an AI-powered network model.
“Julie Ann Parks has a proven track record of turning trade compliance into a strategic business priority that not only cuts through regulatory complexity, but actually drives operational growth for leading companies,” said Evan Smith, CEO and Co-founder of Altana. “Bringing her to Altana is a statement about where we're headed: building the world's leading AI platform for global trade, and assembling the team that gets us there."
“The future of trade requires more than reaction — it requires visibility, intelligence, and the ability to stay ahead of the disruption,” said Parks. “What drew me to Altana is the opportunity to combine deep trade expertise with innovative technology to help organizations navigate global commerce with greater confidence and clarity.”
Parks joins at a moment of accelerating momentum for Altana as it pioneers a new category: an AI-powered network for trusted trade, creating a shared platform for public and private sectors to collaborate on compliant, resilient commerce. Recent 2026 milestones include FedRAMP High authorization, the Maersk Gemini Cooperation deployment, and recognition on Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies list.
