This Modern Slavery Act Statement (the "MSA Statement") is prepared on behalf of Altana Technologies, Inc. and its subsidiaries (together, "Altana" or "we" or "us").
Altana considers all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking to be unacceptable and is committed to ensuring that such practices have no place within its business or supply chains.
We are dedicated to conducting our operations responsibly and ethically, and to ensuring that all individuals with whom we engage are treated with dignity and respect. Our business practices and relationships with suppliers, vendors, and service providers are designed to reflect our values and seek to prevent and deter any form of modern slavery or human trafficking.
Altana expects all business partners, suppliers, and vendors to share our commitment to respecting human rights and promoting equality of opportunity in the workplace. We encourage these organizations to reflect these principles in their own employment practices and require them to comply fully with all applicable laws and regulations.
Our Structure, Business, and Supply Chains
Altana builds a SaaS software and technology platform (the "Altana Platform") to help organizations and governments understand their supply networks. The Altana Platform enables customers to explore their value chain relationships in detail, monitor and improve supply chain network resilience, and engage and collaborate across multi-tier value chains. It provides multi-tier visibility, decision support, and network collaboration, serving as the System of Record for Value Chains.
Altana is delivering access to the Altana Platform with an inherent suite of tools to enable its customers to evaluate their value chains based on the interaction of their data with Altana’s knowledge graph. That interaction is facilitated by Altana’s inherent machine learning models, specifically our entity resolution models, which are used to identify and link records that refer to the same real-world entity (e.g. a supplier facility) across different data sources (which, for example, might use slightly different spellings of names, addresses, or even unique IDs for the same entity). In short, the goal of using Altana Platform is to accurately determine which of, and learn whether, these seemingly disparate records actually represent the same individual, organization, product, or other entity so that we can provide to our customers the most accurate and relevant worldview possible. Given this, Altana has a relatively short and integrated supply chain, and purchases its vendor services, cloud storage and other office equipment from technology providers.
Altana employs over 250 employees worldwide. Our employees are central to our success, and we are committed to ensuring that all employees are treated fairly and lawfully. We work to guarantee that our employment practices comply with applicable local laws in all jurisdictions in which we operate, including through implementing our ‘Corporate Code of Conduct’ and ‘Employee Handbook’.
Altana requires its suppliers, vendors, and business partners to comply with the principles set out in its ‘Global Business Partner Code of Conduct’, which is incorporated into our standard contractual arrangements as a condition of continuing a business relationship with Altana. Business partners must also impose equivalent standards on their own suppliers. This code outlines Altana’s expectations regarding respect for human rights, equal opportunity in the workplace, lawful employment practices, and the fair and respectful treatment of workers.
Altana’s senior management has approved and implemented an ‘Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy’, which outlines responsibilities and expectations across the organization. All relevant stakeholders are required to understand and comply with their obligations under this policy.
Internally, Altana’s ‘Corporate Code of Conduct’ and ‘Employee Handbook’ set out our policies on equal employment opportunity, diversity and inclusion, ethical conduct, and legal compliance. These documents also include our whistleblowing policy and guidance regarding our grievance mechanism for reporting concerns relating to actual or suspected modern slavery or human trafficking using Altana’s Ethics line. The whistleblowing policy grievance mechanisms are intended to encourage employees to raise concerns in confidence and without fear of retaliation, including concerns relating to conduct within our supply chain.
Any failure by employees to comply with Altana’s policies regarding modern slavery and human trafficking is treated as a disciplinary matter and addressed in accordance with our formal disciplinary procedures.
Identifying, Assessing, and Managing Risk: Our Due Diligence Approach
As part of our risk management framework, Altana engages with suppliers, vendors, and other business partners in a manner that supports compliance with applicable laws.
We require suppliers, vendors, and other business partners to participate in our due diligence processes, which are designed to identify prior violations by potential suppliers, vendors, and other business partners and additional potential risks. Altana remains vigilant and periodically monitors risks across all levels of its supply chain.
In assessing potential risks, Altana considers factors such as the nature of the goods or services provided, the profile and location of the supplier or business partner, the duration of the relationship, and the jurisdiction from which the goods or services are supplied. Altana is committed to working collaboratively with its suppliers, vendors, and business partners to identify, manage, and mitigate risks and to uphold ethical standards.
Altana also encourages employees to raise concerns and ensures that suppliers, vendors, and business partners are contractually required to comply with all applicable laws.
Training and Assessing Effectiveness
Altana recognizes the importance of employee awareness in preventing modern slavery and human trafficking. As part of our compliance program, Altana provides training to its employees to ensure they are equipped to identify and escalate modern slavery-related concerns promptly.
Altana acknowledges that identifying and combatting modern slavery is an ongoing commitment and will continue to review and enhance its policies, procedures, and practices to reduce the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking within its business and supply chains.
This MSA Statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes Altana’s Modern Slavery Act statement for the financial year ending January 31, 2027.
