Give buyers the proof they ask for.
Buyers ask about origin, materials, forced labor, and trade-agreement eligibility for each product. You can build and update your records to stay ready for trade, even before you receive a request.
FOR SUPPLIERS
Today’s global trade rules require product-level evidence of origin and production. Altana offers a free platform to easily map your multi-tier supply chain and share a reusable product record with your buyers.

HOW IT WORKS
1

An email from your buyer summarizes the request and includes a link to get started.
2

With guided onboarding, it takes just seconds to set up your account and start responding.
3

Get a head start with responses pre-filled with suggestions. Enter your data manually, or upload documents and let Altana’s AI fill in the rest.
4

With Product Passports, you can choose exactly what to share, and with whom. Still missing data? Invite your own suppliers to join and fill in the blanks.
THE CHALLENGE
Customs authorities and buyers both ask the supplier that made the goods for evidence of origin and production.
Buyers are mapping their supply chains
Brands now ask their suppliers detailed questions about their products and inputs to manage compliance and control costs. To answer them, you need the same information from your own suppliers.
A certificate of origin is no longer enough
Buyers and investigators want the evidence behind your product claims: what your product is made of, who supplied each input, which facilities it passed through, and your role in its production.
Requests arrive with short deadlines
A customs request for information gives your buyer a short deadline to reply, using documents only you hold. Gathering evidence under that short timeline can be costly, and mistakes are easy to make.
Every request starts from scratch
Each buyer sends its own survey in its own format. You waste time searching for data scattered across spreadsheets, folders, and emails, then answer the same questions over and over.
Altana’s AI helps you quickly build a shared view of your products and their origins, so you and your buyers can manage compliance, resilience, trade, and supply chain strategy together.
Real-world outcomes
$100M Spend one manufacturer redirected to suppliers that could provide evidence.
48 Hours Time to complete upstream forced-labor reviews, down from weeks.
5 Tiers How deep one manufacturer mapped its value chains in 90 days.
When a buyer’s shipments keep getting detained, the supplier is the one at risk of being replaced. Evidence shared through Altana kept this supplier in place.
A US retail brand had 47 shipments of the same product detained on suspicion of forced labor, then released. No clear explanation each time.
The brand and its supplier used Altana to review value chain evidence with U.S. Customs, which pre-validated the next shipment. The brand saved $1.7M retaining its supplier instead of replacing it.
Customers asked for forced-labor answers beyond the first tier. Mapping its value chains on Altana let this manufacturer answer in hours, not weeks.
A global manufacturer could not answer its customers’ forced-labor requests. No visibility past its direct suppliers.
It mapped its value chains in two weeks, including five tiers deep within 90 days. Upstream reviews went from weeks to 48 hours. It redirected $100M in spend to suppliers that could provide evidence.
Every U.S. Customs request meant chasing suppliers for the same origin proof. Collecting that evidence once in Altana ended the repeat work.
An apparel importer received repeated Requests for Information from U.S. Customs, chasing suppliers to prove origin each time.
It collected, verified, and shared supplier evidence with Customs directly. Clearance went through without delay. It saved 120 hours on CF-28 responses and realized $220K in newly qualified duty savings.

Companies are increasingly asked by regulators, customs authorities, and their own customers to show where their products and inputs come from, often tracing back to raw materials. Rules on forced labor, country of origin, and supply chain due diligence mean that information now has to be documented upstream, not only on finished goods. Your buyer uses Altana to gather that evidence in one place, and you answer there.
No. There is no cost to join Altana or to respond to your buyer's request. If your own team later wants access to advanced trade tools, those are available separately. Speak with Altana to learn more.
Your Altana account belongs to your company. The buyer who sent the request sees the response you share with them. You review your response before it's shared. If you invite your own suppliers to complete the picture, they never see who your customers are.
Start with what you already have. Your buyer's request may list specific documents, but most buyers want to see that goods moved from one place to another and were paid for. Commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin for raw materials are a good start. Bills of materials, certifications or attestations, and files you used to answer earlier buyer requests help too.
Yes. You can type your answers in directly, upload supporting documents, or do both. Share only the documents you're comfortable sharing with your buyer.
That's normal, especially deeper in the value chain. Share what you have now and add more as you collect it.
No. There's nothing to install or integrate. You respond in your web browser and can get started in seconds.
