June 15, 2026 (NEW YORK, NY) — Altana today announced that Kit Krugman has joined the company as Chief People Officer. In this role, Krugman will work across Altana to build the structures, systems, and teams to accelerate the company’s work building the world’s leading AI platform for global trade.
Krugman brings more than 15 years of experience designing organizations and people systems that help ambitious companies scale and innovate. Most recently, as SVP of People & Culture at Foursquare, she built a strategic people function focused on accelerating organizational transformation, increasing product velocity, and driving business outcomes.
Prior to Foursquare, Krugman was a Partner and Managing Director at co:collective, a transformation consultancy, where she founded and led the firm's Organization & Culture Design practice. There, she advised startups, nonprofits, and global enterprises — including CHANEL, IBM, LinkedIn, and Microsoft — on leadership, culture, organizational effectiveness and the future of work.
"As we scale toward becoming the world's leading AI platform for global trade, building an exceptional team is mission-critical," said Evan Smith, CEO and Co-founder of Altana. "Kit stood out for her depth of experience leading organizational transformation, her ownership toward the whole business — not just the people function — and her systems-thinking. I believe Kit exemplifies the values that make Altana special: intellectual rigor, a relentless drive, curiosity, ambition, and a strong orientation toward impact and outcomes.”
“From day one, I’ve been energized by the breadth of team’s ambition and scope of potential impact,” said Krugman, “Altana embodies the qualities I look for in transformative organizations: an audacious mission, the intellectual horsepower to achieve it, and the integrity to deliver trust at scale. I’m thrilled to join the team.”
Krugman holds a M.A. in Organizational Psychology & Change Leadership from Columbia University and a B.A. in visual and narrative theory from Yale. A committed advocate for inclusive leadership and sustainable systems, Kit served as Board Chair of WIN: Women in Innovation and on the People & Culture Committee of the board for WaterAid North America.
