NEW YORK, February 10, 2025 — Altana, the world’s first Value Chain Management System, is pleased to announce that General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), a major U.S. defense technologies company, has selected the company to help it establish a dynamic global supplier network that supports compliant, resilient international expansion.
GA-ASI, a leading manufacturer of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), has engaged Altana to map and connect with the upstream suppliers across its value chains to support compliance with arms control and forced labor regulations. Altana’s platform will enable GA-ASI to layer proprietary data, compliance data, and risk signals on top of its value chains, yielding a detailed global assessment of compliance risk and enabling the due diligence necessary to expand into international markets to serve the U.S.’s key allies and partners.
“We’ve spent decades inventing, innovating, and delivering disruptive new defense technologies in support of the United States and its allies,” said Charles McVicker, Vice President of Supply Chain for GA-ASI. “We selected Altana because we need a trusted partner to help us reveal and manage our upstream value chains, ensure secure and compliant sourcing, and expand our technology capabilities across the world.”
Evan Smith, CEO and co-founder of Altana, said, “It’s never been more important for the defense industrial base to have full visibility upstream and downstream in its supply chain. We’re honored to work with GA-ASI to build trusted value chains and to help ensure that their innovative technology is available to Western-allied governments.”
